Desire of the monster's heart.

Here I am now, baby,
holding out my hand.
I wish there was a way
I could make them understand.
I don't ever want to shed
the blood you so easily shed.
I only want the best of you
and of course I'll love the bad.

I am a filthy monster, honey,
and that's all they'll ever see.
I've got the skin of glory
but the fire's consumed me;
until my face is charred away
and I've become your phantom.
I do expect you'll look away
but know my heart is handsome.

Angel eyes and golden hair,
your milk and honey is far too sweet,
for a demon's lips know only
the taste of shame and self-defeat.
But maybe redemption in you
is the only place I've left to go.
But if my knife does pierce your heart,
no surprises, you already know.
