the Lone.

The more and more I peel away,
the deeper into your skin I creep;
the more and more I understand
that maybe it's not meant to be.

Your colors were more than appetizing.
Oh so vibrant, pulsating trance.
But even though I know the moves
my feet cannot execute the dance.

Maybe it's me just being weird
because I'm the yellow in this blue crowd;
but while everyone whispered away
I couldn't; I remained to shout.

I had to hear my voice over the quiet
to remember this is why I existed.
It was never really about fitting in;
another opportunity - yes, I missed it.

Still, I won't just walk away;
this is the road I was meant to tread.
And it is better, this, just to walk alone
than conform and end up dead.
